SAP OPENS BIZOBJECTS DEVELOPMENT

SAP logoMembers of the SAP channel can build, market and sell analytic applications based on the German company’s BusinessObjects line. That was the thrust of the “Build and Sell” program introduced this week by SAP.

SAP envisions predefined or preconfigured industry or line-of-business analytic applications can be offered by the SAP EcoHub site and the SAP Channel Partner Port. This will enable other resellers to expand into new markets by accessing these applications. The approach was described as enabling resellers “to identify and quickly deploy analytic applications that are custom-tailored to their own distinct industry needs while also being affordable, offering fast time-to-value and keeping total cost of ownership low.” SAP said that as part of a pilot program, 10 partners had already built and sold applications to customers in industries such as automotive, banking, insurance, retail and utilities.
