COUGAR MOUNTAIN REBRANDS
Cougar Mountain Software has rebranded and it has a newly designed website, which looks like it was put together by someone with red-blue color blindness. The top of the page starts with black followed what I describe a bilious green. But that’s a just a personal preference. The company’s new tag line, "Accounting software for growing businesses.” It also has posted some white papers including “Fulfilling CPA Needs.”
I’m not sure if this indicates a bigger effort to go after the CPA community. The other curious thing is the way the page handles press releases. They are in a section for that purpose but don’t have dates, which makes it difficult to remember just which ones are new. Guys, take another whack at this page. One change I like, good for press and the company. is a section showing the executive management with both pictures and profiles. I believes companies need to show access points and having images of people on web sites, and not just information, makes an organization more accessible. There’s a greater degree of comfort in being able to call a company and ask for an individual than in having to figure out a way through the voice answering system and trying to determine who is in charge of an area. (If there was such a section before, it certainly wasn’t as easy to find and use.) Overall, the organization of information is good, but that color scheme …
