DYNAMICS GROUP HAS LAYOFFS
Reseller and industry sources say that Microsoft Business Solutions, the group that markets the Dynamics software line, has had layoffs. These would have come just after Microsoft ended its fiscal year on June 30. There are reports that some partner account managers have been dropped, although no numbers were available and none of the sources could categorize any reduction in force as small or large.
There was also speculation that this might have been triggered by the closer links between Dynamics CRM, now available as an add-on to Office 365. Because spokespeople are attending the Worldwide Partner Conference, they have not been immediately available for questions about these reports. In discussing their business, as reported in last week's issue, the Dynamics partners interviewed thought that MBS should have had a good year, based on their business and reports they had heard from other VARs.
