SAP RECRUITING BYD VARS Featured

SAPSAP added three new Business ByDesign resellers during the last quarter in the United States and Canada. And that brings the total in these areas to 42. While that is more than suggested by the SAP partner finder on its website, it seems likely that the number actively selling is lower. John Okunski, director of North American channel sales, says 25 new partners were enlisted in the two countries during the same quarter with 25 more ready to join.

But that involves all cloud products, except for the Business One SaaS entry. Those products include All-in-One, Success Factors and applications such as Financials OnDemand and a social analytics entry. Later this year, the channel will also gain access to SAP Jam, a chatter app similar to Yammer and a “sales and operations planning solution that is available to some or our direct customers that will now be available through the channel,” he says. Okunski, who took over the job in May, says some B1 VARs are showing interest in Success Factors and Financials OnDemand. He agrees there has been a lull in the ByD market. “There has been concern about what we are doing," Okunski agrees. He attributes that to statements by Lars Dalgaard, the former head of Success Factors, made about SAP’s go-to-market plans at this year’s Sapphire conference. Dalgaard left the company soon after the show. And Okunski says “nothing has changed with the product. We didn’t deviate from the road map."
