Your comment about "only ERP not developed by Microsoft" is misleading
Written by Judith Griggs
I agree with your statement that Dynamics SL was not developed by Microsoft -- the folks in Findlay have always been the development and support engine, even if there are now some Microsofties guiding product development decisions. However, Dynamics GP was certainly NOT developed by Microsoft (just ask Doug Burgum and his team in Fargo) and both Dynamics AX and Dynamics NAV were initially developed in Europe.
I am pleased to hear that something is in the works for us "livestyle" partners -- the transition is going to be hard in any case. Would be nice, however, if they'd get on with telling us what they have planned.

Your comment about "only ERP not developed by Microsoft" is misleading
Written by Jered Cady
Dynamics SL is designed, managed, and significantly developed internally at Microsoft. And, like many Microsoft products, they outsource some aspects of the development to Plumbline, which employs some of the original team of Solomon developers who didn't want to move to Fargo or Redmond. You do a disservice to all of us by the implications in your article. I sit on the SL Partner Advisory Board and know the above to be true. And, in fact, the SL marketing team is doing something to help the "lifestyle" VARs continue to do business. You'll hear about it later this fall. Jered Cady Synergy Business Solutions

Ok, cheap shot on Sarah :)
That whole newseek (which should rename itself...Huffington Post in Print) was a sad day for journalism. In addition, they never got permission from runners world to use the photo.
As much as the left hate's Sarah, the old saying, all PR is good PR is ringing true. This book will break records.

Bob:
The Sage resellers are doing fine with the cloud, it's called managed services. nGenX is the hosting provider for Sage Non Profit Solutions and Abra HRMS. Additionally we host Accpac, MAS90/200, SalesLogix and Act!. We are averaging a new Sage client every week. One thing that the Sage resellers that has client wanting a web based application such as NetSuite makes one point - going with a Sage application delivered as a managed service is that they own the software. If I am a NetSuite user and want to bring it in house what do I have?
Nothing.
The Sage product line may not be a SaaS offering but they can be delivered as a managed service. The Sage applications are perfect for managed services.

As the downsizing continues, this one is particuarly telling. In Mike Bongiovanni and Sally Craig Sage jettisoned two of its finest. These were astute professionals who knew how to get things done, and were among the true (and dwindling number of) friends of the channel. They'll land on their feet I'm sure; the greater loss is Sage's.
