DELTEK ROLLS OUT MAJOR UPDATES Featured

Deltek has issued releases of several major products as it meets in its annual Insight user conference. Among them is Vision 7.1, the latest rendition of its project-based accounting system for architecture and engineering and other project-based businesses. Front and center on that product is Vision Navigator, designed for use from any browser or tablet. Navigator provides views of the system, including the Employee workspace, which offers access to multiple tasks, including tracking and monitoring timekeeping. The other area, the Project Management workspace gives project managers what the company described as a "Mission Control" view to better execute projects.

There is a new Invoice Approval system along with Adobe InDesign integration for formatting proposals, along with redesigned Vision Performance Management dashboards, which offers access to more data cubes through a presentation layer, powered by Tableau. Also rolling out is wInsight Analytics 7.0 which Deltek says uses "an associative data model that does not require predefined analysis paths". For example, Deltek says that enables users to "see cost variances across the portfolio of projects and also determine if there is a correlation between project types and variances." Also out the door is Maconomy 2.1, which has Timesheet enhancements – such as named delegates authorized to register time. The – New dashboards offer each decision-maker views of engagement or financial status information. The system has new reports and desktop analysis tools with reports now accessible directly from within workspaces.
