COLUMBUS: GOING GLOBAL WITH M3 Featured

Thomas Honoré, Columbus Columbus said this week it plans to utilize its January acquisition of Swedish iStone to take the Infor M3 (Lawson) product line global. The initiative is a major change for Columbus which had concentrated on the Dynamics line and its internally developed Columbus Software.

Columbus disclosed its plan in a presentation at its Capital Markets day. A webcast of comments was not available but when the planned purchase was announced CEO Thomas Honoré noted, “Not all customers carry the Microsoft platform. We can have a more complete portfolio; we will also be able to upsell and cross-sell to the iStone installed base."  At the time, iStone had 350 M3 consultants. Slides from the Capital Markets day presentation did not contain much detail, other than saying Columbus wants to be a global with M3. The company said there would be an increased opportunity to upsell Columbus Software and Columbus Care. iStone also enables Columbus to strengthen industry focus in manufacturing, retail, distribution and food. Both iStone and Columbus have focused on manufacturing. The combination also makes Columbus much larger. Columbus had about $201 million in revenue for the year ended December 31; iStone roughly $95 million for fiscal 2017.
