Ivanka Trump at the Tribeca Film FestivalI suspect that having it announced nationally that the Microsoft tablets are not working on the Patriot's sideline in last Sunday's playoff game is not the publicity the company was seeking. I can see the messages: "Your computer should work all the way through, not just on the surface. Get an iPad!" Or "Don't Just Scratch the Surface of Computing Power": From the Bob Scott Fake Ad department.

... With the Zika virus working its way around the world, the mosquito-borne disease is likely to spread. Of course there will be the thriller movies: "Mosquito" "Where did they come from? What did they want? ... There's been feeble attempt to revive the "Law and Order" franchise with the new "Law and Order: Small Claims Court". ... I'm worried about the Internet of things. I thing the toaster is spying on me for the car and the garage door opener. I hear them whispering at night. ... I was asked for my two cents about the political climate and then found out that inflation over the last 30 years meant I had to offer my nine cents. ... Ivanka Trump says her father is an incredible role model to the grandkids. All you have to do is watch the kids interact with their toys calling out, "You idiot. You're incompetent. You're dumb as a rock." ... The big news about the GOP presidential debate, skipped by Donald Trump, was that viewers looked at Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee and drew some conclusions that startled those tuning in. "They're still running?" was the general reaction. ... On the Democratic side, there's a new term when assumed front runner is struggling. It's called getting "Hilaried." ... New Jersey is looking for a way to save Atlantic City, given the struggle its casinos have experienced. Why not rename the place "MonopolyLand" and attract visitors who want to see all those famous streets? You might not want to build hotels on Park Place and Boardwalk, but you could give tourists cards they can have stamped for participation points. Visitors could even be given real "Get Out of Jail Free" cards for those minor infractions many will invariable succumb to.
