Aaron Hernandez, former NFL playerA new reality show, "Summer Camp", is premiering on television next week. I can’t wait to see the episode with the lanyard making competition. .. I went into the local chocolate store that carries one of my favorite confections. I asked the guy behind the counter, “Do you have cinnamon balls?” He replied, “Hey, buddy; that’s an awfully personal question.”

…  After tight-end Aaron Hernandez was charged with murder, he was dismissed by the New England Patriots. Looks like the team isn’t going with the shoot-and-run offense. … There was a recent news report that Al Qaeda has established a complaint department. You can just hear some of the complaints: “You call yourself a terrorist organization? I enlisted as a suicide bomber and my bomb didn’t go off. I was so ashamed I had to show my face at a family reunion.”   ... At an upscale restaurant in my hometown, I ordered mashed potatoes with my entree but instead was given mushroom risotto, probably the only restaurant in town that could make that mistake. The usual response would be:  “What’s this here stuff that looks like big rice? It don’t taste like no rice. Take that crap back and bring me some potatoes.” ... Read a report that the postal service has been tracking mail as part of U.S. surveillance. Someone decided that with the continuing decline in mail volume there were plenty of idle workers … There’s a new combination safari park and extended jogging trail. Joggers run through the park trying to stay ahead of major carnivores. It’s called “Run for Your Life.”  ... The move by Ball State basketball coach Brad Stevens to an NBA coaching job drew a column this week that the jump was a drain on the integrity of college basketball. That was huge surprise. College basketball has integrity?
