XERO LAUNCHES SELF-EMPLOYED APP Featured

Keri Gohman, XeroXero +C has been introduced for self-employed users. The New Zealand-based cloud software company says the product is designed for free-lance workers, but believes the new product will also open the market to accountants.

The software will initially be distributed by Xero's partner channel and will be free with main Xero application for a limited time. "Xero +C opens up a huge market opportunity for accountants," said Keri Gohman, president of Xero Americas. " The self-employed market is getting a lot of attention as the number of those workers expand. Intuit's QuickBooks Self-Employed has grown rapidly. Because self-employed workers often do not keep good records, accountants are sometimes reluctant to accept them as clients. With the software automating the creation of Schedule C reports, Xero believes accountants will be more willing to serve this market to provide advisory services.
