Padgett is the more interesting case for this market as for the last two years he was president of the company's SMB Solutions Group, whose products include Business ByDesign, Anywhere and Business One application. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see that position as a real career builder. That job was newly created when Padgett took it. When Padgett assumed that role, SAP executive board member Steve Singh said, "This newly created position highlights the importance of small and midsize businesses to SAP." Atzberger served as president of Ariba for the past three years. A 13-year veteran of the company, he was previously chief of staff to CEO Bill McDermott. He is replacing Hybris co-founder Carsten Thoma, who is leaving the company. Moritz Zimmermann, the other Hybris cofounder remains as head of engineering. Padgett joined SAP through its acquisition of Concur. He had served as that operation's chief product officer from 2014 through 2016
