ACCOUNTMATE INTROS ENTERPRISE Featured

David Render, AccountMateAccountMate Software has introduced its Enterprise 2015 edition. Built on .Net, the product is a step away from its traditional source-code model. "We will continue to offer source code for those dealers than want it," says COO David Render. However, the product's software development kit means "they don't need it." Modifications are made in a separate layer and are easier to maintain when software is upgraded.

Render says Enterprise is a superset of the AccountMate SQL line but has a "totally different look and feel" because of the development environment. The SDK is included in the System Manager. The company has rolled out the System Manager and GL and a new Report Designer and will follow with other modules. Render said the cost will likely be no more than for SQL. While the typical Enterprise module is priced at $2,500 and the typical SQL module at $1,500 each, users also had to purchase source code at $1,500 each for each module. Render also said some requested features, which could not be accomplished with the old GL, can be done with the new one, such as more segments and larger account codes. The Enterprise GL can be linked to the SQL systems. Because the new product is more sophisticated, it may attract slightly larger clients, Render said.
